Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London in 1965 by Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright, with David Gilmour joining in late 1967. As pioneers of British psychedelic rock, they distinguished themselves through extended musical compositions, innovative sound design, introspective lyrical themes, and visually ambitious concert productions. The band became central figures in progressive rock, sustaining their career through the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s until their dissolution in 2014. Their influence on rock music remains substantial.
