Renée Geyer was an Australian soul, jazz and R&B vocalist whose career spanned seven decades. Born in 1953, she established herself as a distinctive interpreter of soulful material, earning particular success in Australia during the 1970s and 1980s with singles including "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" and "Say I Love You," the latter achieving chart success in New Zealand. Across 15 studio albums, her recordings Moving Along (1977) and Tenderland (2003) both reached number 11 on the Australian charts. Beyond her solo work, Geyer became an internationally recognised session and backing vocalist, contributing to recordings by artists including Sting, Chaka Khan, Joe Cocker and Neil Diamond. She passed away in January 2023.
