The Trammps were an American soul and disco group that emerged from Philadelphia in 1972. As pioneers of the disco movement, they helped establish the genre during its formative years in the early-to-mid 1970s. The band's sound blended soul, disco, and elements of classic pop and rock, positioning them among the earliest acts to achieve prominence within the developing disco scene. Active through the end of the 1980s, The Trammps left a notable mark on dance music and popular culture during the height of the disco era.
