Eartha Kitt was an American singer, songwriter, and actress renowned for her distinctive vocal approach. Born in 1927, she built a career spanning multiple decades across jazz, easy listening, and traditional popular music. Kitt gained particular recognition in 1953 for her recordings of "C'est si bon" and "Santa Baby," the latter becoming a holiday standard. Her unique artistry established her as a notable figure in twentieth-century American entertainment. She passed away in 2008.
