Madeleine Peyroux is an American jazz and folk vocalist born in 1974. She launched her career as a teenager performing vintage jazz and blues standards on the streets of Paris. Peyroux remained largely unknown until 2004, when her album Careless Love achieved significant commercial success, selling approximately half a million copies and establishing her as a mainstream artist. Her work spans vocal jazz and contemporary jazz traditions, blending classic interpretations with her distinctive artistic vision.
