The Danleers

The Danleers were an American doo-wop vocal group that emerged from Brooklyn, New York City, in 1958. The ensemble featured Jimmy Weston, Johnny Lee, Willie Ephraim, Nat McCune, and Roosevelt Mays as its original lineup. The group achieved rapid success with their debut single "One Summer Night," penned by their manager Danny Webb—who also gave the group its name. The track became one of 1958's biggest hits, achieving sales exceeding one million copies. Though subsequent releases failed to replicate this commercial success, the group continued performing into the following decades, with Weston remaining as a consistent original member throughout their touring years.
