This was the second single released by English rock band the Who in 1965. The track features call-and-response vocal elements and pioneering use of guitar feedback, which is considered among the earliest recorded instances of this technique. Notably, it marked the sole collaboration between lead vocalist Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend as songwriters. The recording also represented the first Who release to feature pianist Nicky Hopkins.
