"99 Pounds" appears on Changes, the Monkees' ninth studio album released in 1970 by Colgems Records. The album was recorded after Michael Nesmith departed the band, with only Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones remaining to complete their mid-1960s recording contract. Changes marked the final new album for Colgems Records and their last collection of entirely new material until 1987's Pool It!.
