King Heroin cover

An anti-drug composition created by James Brown alongside David Matthews, Manny Rosen, and Charles Bobbit, this track was recorded in a New York studio with session musicians during early 1972 and released as a single that March. It served as Brown's fifth release for Polydor Records, achieving number six placement on the U.S. Hot Soul Singles chart and number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 during spring of that year. The song later appeared on Brown's 1972 album "There It Is."
