James Brown released this funk track in May 1972 through Polydor Records as a two-part single, achieving significant chart success by reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot R&B chart and number 18 on the Hot 100. The song appeared on a same-titled album released that year and became Brown's first gold record, partly because his previous hits had not been certified by record labels.
