Wreckx‐n‐Effect
Wreckx-N-Effect was an American hip hop group that emerged in 1988, blending elements of new jack swing, rhythm and blues, and dancehall music. The ensemble became prominent during the late 1980s and early 1990s, contributing to the era's distinctive sound that merged hip hop with smooth, funk-influenced production. The group remained active until 1996. In 2008, Wreckx-N-Effect was affected by the Universal fire, a significant event in music industry history that destroyed master recordings and materials at the Universal lot in Los Angeles.
