Obie Trice III is an American rapper from Detroit who emerged in the hip-hop scene in 1998. In 2000, he signed to Shady Records, the imprint founded by fellow Detroit artist Eminem under Interscope Records. His first two studio albums, Cheers (2003) and Second Round's on Me (2006), both achieved top-ten positions on the Billboard 200 chart, bolstered by notable singles including "Got Some Teeth" and the Dr. Dre-produced "The Set Up." After departing Shady Records, Trice established his independent label, Black Market Entertainment, through which he released subsequent projects including Bottoms Up (2012), The Hangover (2015), and The Fifth (2019).
