Tin Machine was the debut studio album by the Anglo-American hard rock group Tin Machine, which was released in May 1989 through EMI America Records. The band featured David Bowie alongside guitarist Reeves Gabrels, bassist Tony Fox Sales, and drummer Hunt Sales, with Kevin Armstrong contributing additional guitar work. Bowie initiated the project after feeling artistically unfulfilled in 1987 and sought to revitalize his career. He connected with Gabrels during his Glass Spider Tour and subsequently recruited the Sales brothers, whom he had last collaborated with during the previous decade.
