Simon & Garfunkel was an American musical duo formed by singer-songwriter Paul Simon and vocalist Art Garfunkel. Active from 1963 to 1970, they became one of the most commercially successful acts of the 1960s, blending folk, rock, and pop influences. The pair achieved widespread acclaim with three U.S. number-one singles, including "The Sound of Silence" and two Grammy Award-winning records of the year, "Mrs. Robinson" and "Bridge over Troubled Water." Their catalogue also featured numerous other chart successes such as "The Boxer," "America," and "Homeward Bound," establishing them as defining artists of their era.
