Slayer

Slayer is an American thrash metal band formed in Huntington Park, California in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo, and vocalist/bassist Tom Araya. Known for their fast and aggressive musical approach, Slayer became one of the most influential bands in thrash metal, earning recognition alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax as part of the genre's "big four." Following Hanneman's death in 2013, guitarist Gary Holt, who had joined as a touring member in 2011, became a permanent fixture. The band's current lineup includes King, Araya, Holt, and drummer Paul Bostaph.
