Tarkus is the second studio album by English progressive rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer, released in June 1971 through Island Records. The band recorded the album at Advision Studios in London during early 1971, following their European tour in the latter half of 1970. The recording process involved the group temporarily halting their touring schedule to focus on creating the new material.
