The Kovenant

The Kovenant is a Norwegian industrial metal band from Hamar that emerged in 1993. Initially performing as Covenant, the group began as a symphonic black metal act before undergoing a significant stylistic shift. Following a 1999 naming dispute with a Swedish band, they rebranded as The Kovenant and pivoted toward a cyber-industrial metal sound drawing from Europe's electronic body music scene. Despite this artistic evolution, the band revisited and reissued their earlier work under their new identity, demonstrating a continuity between their original symphonic black metal roots and their subsequent industrial direction.
