Kokane, the stage name of Jerry Buddy Long Jr., is an American rapper and singer recognized for his distinctive vocal approach within West Coast hip-hop and g-funk. Beginning his professional trajectory in 1984, he gained industry traction after recording a three-song demo with Cold 187um in 1989, which led to a contract with Ruthless Records. Before launching his solo career with his 1991 debut album, Kokane contributed as a co-writer for prominent acts including N.W.A and Above the Law. He has since become known for his prolific guest appearances, most notably on Snoop Dogg's Tha Last Meal, establishing himself as a notable figure in hip-hop.
