Henri Padovani was a French musician born in 1917 who became known internationally as the original guitarist of the English rock band the Police. He joined the group in January 1977 but departed after eight months, eventually replaced by Andy Summers. Following his time with the Police, Padovani pursued other musical projects, including a role as rhythm guitarist with Wayne County & the Electric Chairs and the formation of his own ensemble, the Flying Padovanis. He remained active in music throughout his life until his death in 2008.
