Billie Holiday was an American jazz and blues vocalist born in 1915 who became one of the most influential singers of the twentieth century. Rising to prominence during the swing era, she developed a distinctive interpretive style that blended jazz standards with emotional depth. Holiday's career spanned from the early 1930s until her death in 1959, during which she recorded numerous albums and performed extensively across the United States.
