The Go‐Betweens
The Go-Betweens were an Australian indie rock band formed in Brisbane in 1977. Led throughout by singer-songwriters and guitarists Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, the band became influential figures in post-punk and jangle pop. Drummer Lindy Morrison joined in 1980, followed by bassist Robert Vickers and multi-instrumentalist Amanda Brown, establishing their classic lineup. After disbanding in 1989, Forster and McLennan reunited the group in 2000 with an entirely new supporting cast. The band's final period ended with McLennan's death in 2006. Their legacy in Australian alternative rock remains significant, evidenced by Brisbane's Go Between Bridge, named in their honour in 2010.
