Cocoa Brovaz is an American hip hop duo from Brooklyn, New York, active from 1993 to 2005. The group, also known as Smif-N-Wessun and Tek-N-Steele, comprises rappers Tek Williams from Bed-Stuy and Steele Yates from Brownsville. As a quarter of the supergroup Boot Camp Clik alongside Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah, and Originoo Gunn Clappaz, they became central figures in East Coast hip hop. The pair became distinctive for their incorporation of Jamaican Patois into their verses, particularly during their earlier period. Their sound exemplifies the boom bap aesthetic that defined 1990s New York hip hop.
