Church of Misery

Church of Misery is a Japanese doom metal band from Tokyo, established in 1995. The group's sonic approach combines foundational doom metal influences reminiscent of early Black Sabbath with psychedelic rock elements. Distinctive to their catalog is a thematic focus on serial killers and mass murderers, which permeates much of their lyrical content. Operating within the stoner metal and traditional doom metal subgenres, Church of Misery has developed a recognizable sound that merges heavy, riff-driven compositions with darker subject matter.
