Yngwie Malmsteen is a Swedish-American guitarist born in 1963 who rose to prominence during the 1980s as a pioneering figure in neoclassical metal. Known for his virtuosic technical abilities and innovative approach to heavy metal guitar playing, Malmsteen synthesized classical music influences with hard rock and power metal traditions. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has released 22 studio albums and established himself as one of rock and metal's most accomplished guitarists.
