More is Pink Floyd's inaugural soundtrack album and their third studio release overall. It accompanied a film of the same name, which was shot primarily in Ibiza and marked the directorial debut of filmmaker Barbet Schroeder. The album was distributed by EMI Columbia in the United Kingdom in mid-1969 and by Tower Records in the United States later that summer. Notably, this represented the band's first album to proceed without any creative contribution from former lead vocalist and primary songwriter Syd Barrett.
