The Vaselines

The Vaselines are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Glasgow in 1986. The group began as a songwriting partnership between Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee before expanding its lineup to include James Seenan and Charlie Kelly, Eugene's brother, who joined on bass and drums after their involvement with the band Secession. Rooted in the British alternative rock scene, The Vaselines developed a distinctive sound that blended elements of classic pop and rock with avant-garde sensibilities, establishing themselves as notable figures in Scottish indie music.
