Art of Noise
Art of Noise was a British electronic and avant-garde ensemble that emerged in early 1983, assembling audio engineer Gary Langan, programmer J. J. Jeczalik, keyboardist Anne Dudley, producer Trevor Horn, and music journalist Paul Morley. The group pioneered an experimental approach to pop music, blending sampling and electronic production techniques. They achieved international commercial success with distinctive cover versions, including a collaboration with Tom Jones on "Kiss" and an instrumental rendition of "Peter Gunn" that secured a Grammy Award in 1986. Active until 2000, Art of Noise left a significant mark on the intersection of avant-garde experimentation and accessible pop music.
