The Human League are an English synth-pop band formed in Sheffield in 1977. Starting as an experimental electronic group, they secured a record deal with Virgin Records in 1979 and achieved major commercial prominence following a significant lineup change. Their 1981 album Dare became a landmark release, generating multiple successful singles including "Don't You Want Me," which reached number one in both the UK and US charts. The band won the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act in 1982. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, they continued to produce hit records, establishing themselves as key figures in the synth-pop and new wave movements.
