Depeche Mode is an English electronic band that emerged from Basildon, Essex in 1980. The group initially featured Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, and Vince Clarke, establishing themselves as pioneers of synthesizer-driven pop and rock. Over their career spanning multiple decades, the band became known for blending electronic production with darker, post-punk influences and introspective songwriting. Following Andy Fletcher's death in 2022, the core duo of Gahan and Gore has continued the project, maintaining the band's influential presence in electronic and alternative music.
