Chaka Khan is an American singer and songwriter born in 1953, widely recognized as the "Queen of Funk." Her career began in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk ensemble Rufus, where she helped produce several successful recordings including "Tell Me Something Good," "Sweet Thing," and the platinum-selling "Ain't Nobody." Khan's solo career launched with her debut album, which yielded the number-one R&B single "I'm Every Woman." She achieved significant commercial success with "What Cha' Gonna Do for Me" and gained further prominence with her 1984 cover of Prince's "I Feel for You," marking a significant moment in R&B music history. Additional notable hits include "Through the Fire" and a 1986 collaboration with Steve Winwood that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
