Tom T. Hall was an American country music singer-songwriter and author who became one of the genre's most prolific hitmakers. Known as "the Storyteller" for his narrative-driven compositions, Hall wrote twelve number-one country songs and twenty-six additional top-ten tracks. His 1978 song "Harper Valley PTA" achieved crossover success on the pop charts, while "I Love" reached the Billboard Hot 100. Recognized as one of Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters, Hall earned induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and, alongside his wife Dixie, the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame in 2018.
