Tom Petty

Tom Petty was an American rock musician and songwriter born in 1950. He rose to prominence as the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, becoming one of rock's most enduring figures. Petty also led the earlier group Mudcrutch and participated in the Traveling Wilburys supergroup during the late 1980s. Throughout his career, he maintained a successful solo practice alongside his band work. Known for blending rock, southern rock, and heartland sensibilities, Petty's songwriting and guitar work left a lasting impact on popular music until his death in 2017.
