Martina Topley Bird is a British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for her work in electronic and experimental music. She emerged as a prominent figure in trip hop during the mid-1990s as the featured vocalist on Tricky's influential debut album. Following several collaborative projects, she launched her solo career in 2003 with the album Quixotic, which received critical acclaim and secured a Mercury Prize nomination. Her artistic practice spans jazz, experimental, and dance-oriented genres, establishing her as a distinctive voice in contemporary British music.
