Cass Elliot

Ellen Naomi Cohen, professionally known as Mama Cass Elliot, was an American singer-songwriter, actress, comedian, and television personality born in 1941. She rose to prominence as a member of The Mamas & the Papas, the influential vocal group that operated from 1965 to 1968. During her tenure with the band, Elliot contributed to their Grammy-winning recording "Monday, Monday." Following the group's dissolution, she pursued a solo career, releasing five albums while maintaining her work in entertainment and television. Elliot was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 in recognition of her significant contributions to popular music.
