Islands is King Crimson's fourth studio album, released in December 1971 in the United Kingdom through Island Records and in January 1972 in North America via Atlantic Records. This album uniquely features the lineup of Robert Fripp, Peter Sinfield, Mel Collins, Boz Burrell, and Ian Wallace. By the time of their subsequent studio album in 1973, only Fripp remained with the band.
