Kid Frost, born Arturo R. Molina Jr., is an American rapper, songwriter, and producer who emerged as a pioneering figure in Latin hip-hop. His 1990 debut album is widely recognized as the first Latin hip-hop release, establishing a new subgenre. Throughout the 1990s, he achieved commercial success with four consecutive charting albums. His breakthrough single "La Raza" became his signature track, reaching number 6 on the rap songs chart in August 1990. Kid Frost's work helped establish Chicano rap as a significant force in hip-hop culture.
