June Carter Cash

June Carter was an American country and folk musician, singer, songwriter, comedienne, actress, and author. Born in 1929, she became a five-time Grammy Award winner and gained prominence as a member of the influential Carter Family. A multi-instrumentalist skilled on guitar, banjo, harmonica, and autoharp, Carter maintained a successful solo career while also collaborating with her second husband, Johnny Cash. Beyond music, she appeared in films and television programs throughout her career. She was posthumously recognized for her contributions with induction into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2025. Carter passed away in 2003.
