Jay & the Americans

Jay & The Americans was an American vocal group that rose to prominence during the 1960s. Originally featuring John Traynor, Howard Kane, Kenny Vance, and Sandy Deanne, the group achieved their greatest commercial success following personnel changes that brought Jay Black as lead vocalist and Marty Sanders into the lineup. The band performed blue-eyed soul and rock music throughout their career, which spanned from 1960 to 1973. Their contributions to American popular music were recognized when they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.
