Merle Haggard
Merle Haggard was an American country singer-songwriter born in 1937 who became a defining figure in classic country music. Rising to prominence during the mid-twentieth century, he established himself as a prolific recording artist known for his authentic storytelling and distinctive vocal style. Haggard's career spanned nearly eight decades, during which he recorded extensively across country and related genres, including seasonal material. In 2008, he was among the artists affected by the Universal Studios fire. He remained active in music until his death in 2016.
