Flatt & Scruggs were an influential American bluegrass duo established in 1948. The partnership united singer-guitarist Lester Flatt and banjo virtuoso Earl Scruggs, who had previously collaborated as members of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys between 1945 and 1948. The duo gained recognition for their distinctive approach to bluegrass music and earned a prominent place in the genre's history. Music scholars regard them as among the most significant bluegrass ensembles ever to emerge from the American musical landscape.
