Black Celebration is the fifth studio album by the English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released in March 1986 through Mute Records in the UK and Sire Records in the US. The album was recorded in London and West Berlin and was created using a "live the album" approach inspired by film director Werner Herzog. The production process created significant friction between the band and the production team, leading to their exclusion from future Depeche Mode album projects.
