This was Harrison's twelfth and final studio album, released after his death in November 2002. Recording sessions had begun over ten years prior but faced multiple delays. The album came roughly fifteen years after his previous studio effort, Cloud Nine. His son Dhani completed the overdubs with assistance from session drummer Jim Keltner and longtime collaborator Jeff Lynne.
