Ernie Ford was an American singer and television personality known for his distinctive bass-baritone voice and affable stage presence. Born in 1919, he achieved significant commercial success performing across country, pop, and gospel music. Ford became particularly recognized for his recordings of "The Shotgun Boogie" and "Sixteen Tons," which showcased his versatility in country boogie and traditional country styles. Throughout his career, he also recorded extensively in gospel and spiritual music. His blend of musical genres, combined with his warm personality and humor, made him a notable figure in mid-twentieth-century American entertainment. Ford died in 1991.
