"Mothers Talk" is a 1984 composition by Roland Orzabal and Ian Stanley of the English new wave group Tears for Fears, with Orzabal as vocalist. It served as the band's seventh single release and marked their fifth UK Top 40 hit. The track was the first single drawn from their second studio album, Songs from the Big Chair, and was released half a year before the album's arrival. The song achieved moderate international commercial success.
