Eric B. & Rakim

Eric B. & Rakim was an American hip hop duo from Long Island, New York, active from 1986 to 1992. Comprising DJ Eric B. and rapper Rakim, the pair achieved widespread recognition with their 1987 debut album Paid in Full, which introduced the popular tracks "Eric B. Is President" and the album's title song. The group continued their success through three subsequent releases: Follow the Leader (1988), Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em (1990), and Don't Sweat the Technique (1992). Their innovative approach to hip hop production and lyricism established them as influential figures in East Coast rap.
