Earl Hines

Electric Earl was an American jazz musician active from 1903 to 1983. Working across jazz, swing, dixieland, and stride piano traditions, he developed his craft during the early twentieth century and maintained a presence in the jazz scene for eight decades. His career spanned one of the most transformative periods in American music history, allowing him to witness and participate in the evolution of jazz from its New Orleans roots through its establishment as a major art form.
