El-P is an American rapper, songwriter, and producer born in 1975. Rising to prominence through his work with the influential underground collective Company Flow in the 1990s, he established himself as a key figure in alternative hip-hop. Beyond his solo work, El-P has produced tracks for artists including Aesop Rock, Cage, and Mr. Lif, and was instrumental in founding Definitive Jux, a record label central to the underground hip-hop movement. He is currently best known as one half of the acclaimed duo Run the Jewels, continuing to shape experimental and industrial hip-hop.
