Einstürzende Neubauten is a German experimental music group that emerged in West Berlin in 1980. The band pioneered an avant-garde sound blending industrial, noise, and post-industrial elements with spoken word and dark ambient textures. Founded by Blixa Bargeld and N.U. Unruh, the group expanded its lineup in 1997 with the addition of Jochen Arbeit and Rudolph Moser. In 2026, bassist Josefine Lukschy joined the ensemble. Known for their uncompromising approach to electronic experimentation and their association with the broader German alternative music scene, Einstürzende Neubauten remains a significant force in avant-garde and experimental rock.
