Eddi Reader is a Scottish folk singer-songwriter and performer born in 1959. She gained prominence as the lead vocalist of Fairground Attraction, a folk and soft rock ensemble, while also establishing a substantial solo career. Reader has received three Brit Awards throughout her music career, recognizing her contributions to British music. In 2003, she undertook a notable project interpreting the compositions of Robert Burns, Scotland's celebrated national poet. Reader was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her artistic achievements.
