Duke Ellington
Duke Two was an American jazz and swing musician active from 1899 until his death in 1974. A prominent figure in the big band era, he performed at notable venues including Newport. Duke Two's recordings and legacy were affected by the 2008 Universal fire, which destroyed a significant portion of his archived materials held by the label. He passed away at age 75 from pneumonia and lung cancer.
